2011-12 Competition Team
Being a member of the Steppin' Out Competition Team is about more than just competing. It's about
dedication, commitment, and hard work. It's about taking dance skills to a higher level and performing with confidence and pride.
It's about making lasting friendships.
Over 50 of our dance students are members of the 2011-12 Steppin' Out Competition
Team. We participate in at least two regional dance competitions each spring, and every other summer we participate in a national
dance competition. 2012 is a Nationals year.
In June, 2011, we began a collaboration with Fort Wayne's New American Youth
Ballet & Conservatory. Instructors from NAYB taught Ballet Technique during our Summer Intensive Sessions. Beginning
in September, 2011, our competition students will receive Ballet Technique training at the NAYB facilities, located on Coldwater
Road, just south of Union Chapel (1/2-mile from Steppin' Out).
Selections for our 2011-12 Competition Team are now
complete. In September, we will have a parents' meeting to discuss competition event sites and other information for the upcoming
year.
